Our Preferred Customer Program
You receive over $450 worth of discounts and added value services to help you properly maintain your vehicle while lowering your overall costs by as much as one-half over five-years (compared to only repairing your vehicle when it breaks, per government fleet studies)
How do I get my Preferred Customer Card? Simply schedule your appointment during your current visit and keep that appointment.
What happens if I can’t keep my appointment or miss it? We know this can happen so as long as you reschedule and come in within 30-days of your recommended appointment date you are still entitled to take advantage of your preferred customer status.
How long is my Preferred Customer Card good? The card is good for 13 months from date of issue. Since the normal servicing interval for most vehicles is 6-months or 6,000-miles you will get a new card every two services. Appointments can be rescheduled but need to be kept within thirty days of the initial scheduled date to keep the card in effect.
What does Larry's AutoWorks do? We will make it as easy as possible for you to maintain your vehicle by scheduling advanced appointments for your recommended services and notifying you within 2 weeks of that appointment by mail and by phone. If you need to reschedule we will be happy to give you a time that is more convenient. Why did Larry’s create the Preferred Customer Program? The quick answer is to assist you in getting the best reliability at the lowest cost. We can do this because it allows us to schedule our technicians in advance and therefore get your car completed the same day (assuming no other work is needed). It is a win/win!
Certified Maintenance Program
Our Certified Maintenance Program is designed to help you maintain your vehicle in the best possible condition while reducing overall operating costs and increasing reliability.
Why would you want to follow the Certified Maintenance Program? You can cut your overall operating costs by as much as half, while increasing the reliability and resale value of your vehicle.
What do I have to do to be part of the Certified Maintenance Program? Bring your vehicle in for its regular scheduled maintenance and perform the recommended Core Corrective Services. (as scientific testing shows that they are necessary).
What does Larry's AutoWorks do? At each visit to our facility we will test all fluids/filters using Scientific Means (wherever possible) allowing us to predict and therefore giving you an opportunity to prevent failures. Maintaining your vehicle in the correct manner gives you the highest possible reliability and the lowest long-term operating cost.
What is the Certified Maintenance Program? At Larry's AutoWorks we understand that today's vehicles are a very necessary but complex and potentially expensive part of our everyday lives. Since we can't live without them in most cases, keeping operating costs as low as possible and reliability as high as possible must be a top priority.
For many years Larry's AutoWorks has been educating our customers, and the industy, on the value of properly maintaining vehicles and how properly maintaining a vehicle actually lowers overall operating costs. Experience maintaining our customer's vehicles have shown this to be true and now recently released statistics by the US Department of Transportation confirm it. According to their study it costs roughly half as much to operate and properly maintain your vehicle, over a five-year period, as it does to only repair your vehicle when it breaks!Vehicle preventative maintenance doesn't cost – it saves!
VEHICLES ARE NOT WHAT THEY USED TO BE
We would like to believe that the Automotive General Repair Industry understands these facts and works towards educating the customer about maintaining their vehicles before they break down. However, our experience is that only a small portion of the industry understands these facts, let alone has programs to actually keep operating costs low and reliability high. The majority of the Automotive Repair Industry follows a "what we have done in the past will work in the future" policy, or worse simply waits until their customers vehicle is broken so that they can perform the more expensive repairs. Not only is this "if it's not broke don't fix it" approach the path of least resistance for a shop, but as the Department of Transportation study has shown, twice as much money will be collected in the long run. We feel that it is not professional or fair to the customer to ignore the facts.
TO SAVE MONEY LOOK AT THE WHOLE PICTURE
A thorough read of a vehicle owner's manual and a basic understanding of automotive design makes it clear that preventing the breakdown of vehicle lubricants and fluids will greatly extend the life of the components involved. The replacement of these lubricants and fluids, early in their breakdown cycle, well before they have deteriorated completely, will keep maintenance costs to minimum. This is the only approach that really makes sense since it can save the vehicle owner the cost of expensive component replacement.
A portion of the Automotive Industry is over-maintaining a vehicles. We believe this to be every bit as bad as not maintaining your vehicle at all. Not only are you paying for service that is unnecessary, which over time can add up to thousands of additional dollars, but it can also cause premature failure of some vehicle components and create unnecessary repairs.
Vehicle maintenance, as promoted by the oil industry, offers frequent oil changes as a panacea for long vehicle life. In reality oil changes only address a small portion of the overall equation. This approach totally neglects some of the most expensive and important components of the vehicle such as; transmission, brakes, cooling systems, differentials, steering and driveline. The actual testing of fluids to determine their ability to do the job they are designed for is not utilized. Usually nothing more than a "they look bad" is offered as a reason for replacing fluids, when in reality a fluid that "looks bad" can be good or can be well past the point when it should have been replaced to avoid unnecessary damage! In most cases only scientific testing can determine a fluids actual condition.
FLUIDS ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THE VEHICLE
Just as having impurities in your blood will cause you to become sick or even die, impurities in your vehicle' fluids will cause components to operate incorrectly and fail prematurely. For example, brake fluid is an inorganic substance that will not react with the metals or seals in your brake system. Kept pure, your brake hydraulic fluid will last virtually indefinitely. If, however, water vapor is allowed to enter the system, (which happens over time naturally through normal operation), the oxygen molecules in the water will begin to react with the metal and seals in your brake system allowing oxidation, (more commonly known as corrosion), to occur.
Corrosion = Premature Failure
This corrosion causes premature failure of brake hydraulic components resulting in expensive repairs that do not need to be incurred, if moisture is removed from the system before it can reach a toxic level. The only accurate way to assure that moisture levels are not building up is to test the system for moisture; the most reliable way to do this is with a Refractometer or with test strips developed specifically for this purpose. Many shops are not aware of this testing approach; much less own the proper tool to actually perform the test. Their only option is to recommend regular brake flushes on the theory that it will keep moisture out of the system, or base their recommendations on the color of the fluid, which is inaccurate at best. In most cases these flushes are performed either too late -or too early- resulting in unneeded costs to the vehicle owner through unnecessary work and premature failure of expensive components.
The same principles apply for every fluid in the vehicle and usually there is a simple and cost-effective scientific test to assure that the fluid is operating within its proper parameters.
At Larry's AutoWorks, we do not trust guesswork or conjecture to maintain your vehicle in top operating condition – only a sound scientific approach will do.
TWO KEYS TO RELIABILITY
AND REDUCED COSTS
Experience has shown that our customers prefer this lower overall cost/higher reliability approach to vehicle maintenance. As a result we have devoted our time and energy into researching and developing Best Practices for Automotive Preventative Maintenance and created a program specifically for this purpose. We call this program "Larry's AutoWorks Certified Maintenance Program". Each technician who comes to work for us is trained in the practices of this program.
Our Certified Maintenance Program is a result of over 32-years of data collection and scientific testing, and an analysis of the original design parameters and actual operating realities of local vehicles. This approach meets or exceeds the Manufactures Recommendations and assures the longest dependable service at the lowest possible long-term operating cost.
There are two major elements to the program:
CORE MAINTENANCE SERVICES: These are factory recommended maintenance services performed at intervals appropriate to your vehicle's usage. For most drivers, in this area, that is no more often than every six-months or six-thousand miles, whichever comes first. These Core Services include scientific testing of key fluids, visual inspections of known wear areas, and adjustments and testing of key components, by a technician that is a specialist on your specific make of vehicle.
CORE CORRECTIVE SERVICES: When the results of the above services pinpoint a need for remedial action and appropriate corrective steps are recommended, (i.e. brake hydraulic system flush when the fluid is found to have an moisture content above specifications), these services are performed.
YOU ONLY NEED TO DO WHAT THE VEHICLE REQUIRES
Your only responsibility is to be sure that you follow the recommended service schedule, perform the maintenance necessary to maintain your vehicle and cut your vehicle costs virtually in half over 5 years. We do the rest!
We know that this is true because we have gone back to the original design characteristics of automobiles and their components to determine the normal cause of failures, which in many cases are due to a failure of a fluid or lubricant to do its job properly!
ADVANCE PLANNING IS A WIN FOR EVERYONE
We make it as easy as possible for you to stay on this program. We book your appointment in advance and remind you by mail and by phone to assist you in keeping your appointment. We offer rides to work and home to assist you in getting where you need to be. We can even arrange a low cost rental car for you if needed. We will wash and vacuum your car, whenever possible, and can even arrange for low cost detailing. We work to provide complete vehicle maintenance on a one-stop basis. You can even become a PREFERRED CUSTOMER and receive over $450 in free services!!
MORE COMPLICATED THAN A MOON LANDER
Many in the Automotive Repair Industry would like you to believe that the cars of today are the same as those of yesterday, and that therefore you can maintain your vehicle in the same manner without adverse consequences. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are at least 30,000 parts on the average new car, and over 5,000 of them move. All moving parts require a clean source of lubricating oils, coolant, or greases, and this is provided by some relatively inexpensive, but very hardworking fluids and filters. In addition, today's vehicles have expensive electronic parts that can be affected by poor maintenance habits.
The simplest of new cars has more computing power than the Apollo Moon Lander had! Today's electronics are so sophisticated that cars run well even when there are serious failures in progress. These systems are advanced enough to mask developing problems. Often by the time you have detected a malfunction, one that you can feel or otherwise sense, you may have already damaged expensive components.
Poor or Incorrect Maintenance = Expensive Repairs
Poor maintenance practices force electronics to work overtime, or to carry excess current to compensate for worn out spark plugs, plugged filters, etc. Continuous operation in overtime (engineers call this "exceeding the duty cycle") builds heat in electronic components, leads to increased component on-time, and ultimately to premature failure. Electronics are damaged by heat, excess current, vibration, excessive on-time and violent swings in temperature and humidity. Asking them to operate beyond design limits is just begging for trouble you don't need. Neglecting maintenance is a good way to force a car into expensive breakdowns, early and often.
Working on behalf of our customers is about making it easy and convenient for them to do business with us, making and keeping promises, and developing additional ways to give added value for their money
GUESSWORK IS EXPENSIVE
Larry's AutoWorks removes the guesswork from maintaining your vehicle by using a sound scientific approach wherever possible. This prevents us from changing fluids and filters too often or waiting too long and letting fluids and filters go to the point of allowing damage to expensive components. We believe it is just as bad to service your vehicle too often as it is to service it too seldom. This approach of doing only what is necessary helps our customers maintain their vehicle for the lowest overall operating costs while increasing reliability and maintaining high resale value.
Further, we believe that it is just as risky to have someone, who is not qualified, assess the condition of your vehicle and attempt to help you make important decisions about maintaining what for many is their second largest financial investment. This is why we insist that each of our technicians specialize in specific makes of vehicles, and continues to take at least 50-hours of advanced training in their specific specialty areas each year.
LOWER COST AND HIGHER RELIABILITY?
Experience has shown that our customers prefer this lower overall cost/higher reliability approach to vehicle maintenance and understand the value of having qualified experts maintaining and repairing their investments. That is why we have developed programs to address these specific issue.
